【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofbenzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,thexylenes,Candheavieraromatics,andtotalaromaticsinfinishedmotorgasolinebygaschromatography.Thearomatichydrocarbonsareseparatedwithoutinterferencesfromotherhydrocarbonsinfinishedgasoline.Nonaromatichydrocarbonshavingaboilingpointgreaterthann-dodecanemaycauseinterferenceswiththedeterminationoftheCandheavieraromatics.FortheCaromatics,p-xyleneandm-xyleneco-elutewhileethylbenzeneando-xyleneareseparated.TheCandheavieraromaticsaredeterminedasasinglegroup.Thistestmethodcoversthefollowingconcentrationranges,inliquidvolume%,fortheprecedingaromatics:benzene,0.1to5%;toluene,1to15%;individualCaromatics,0.5to10%;totalCandheavieraromatics,5to30%,andtotalaromatics,10to80%.Resultsarereportedtothenearest0.01%byeithermassorbyliquidvolume.Manyofthecommonalcoholsandethersthatareaddedtogasolinetoreducecarbonmonoxideemissionsandincreaseoctane,donotinterferewiththeanalysis.Etherssuchasmethyltert-butylether(MTBE),ethyltert-butylether(ETBE),tert-amylmethylether(TAME),anddiisopropylether(DIPE)havebeenfoundtoelutefromtheprecolumnwiththenonaromatichydrocarbonstovent.Otheroxygenates,includingmethanolandethanolelutebeforebenzeneandthearomatichydrocarbons.1-Methylcyclopentenehasalsobeenfoundtoelutefromtheprecolumntoventanddoesnotinterferewithbenzene.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
