【摘要】:Thistestmethodisastandardprocedurefordeterminingtheairleakagecharacteristicsunderspecifiedairpressuredifferencesatambientconditions.Note28212;Theairpressuredifferencesactingacrossabuildingenvelopevarygreatly.Thefactorsaffectingairpressuredifferencesandtheimplicationsortheresultingairleakagerelativetotheenvironmentwithinbuildingsarediscussedintheliterature.3,4,5Thesefactorsshouldbefullyconsideredinspecifyingthetestpressuredifferencestobeused.Ratesofairleakagearesometimesusedforcomparisonpurposes.Suchcomparisonsmaynotbevalidunlessthecomponentsbeingtestedandcomparedareofessentiallythesamesize,configuration,anddesign.1.1Thistestmethodcoversastandardlaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheairleakageratesofexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsunderspecifieddifferentialpressureconditionsacrossthespecimen.Thetestmethoddescribedisfortestswithconstanttemperatureandhumidityacrossthespecimen.1.2Thislaboratoryprocedureisapplicabletoexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsandisintendedtomeasureonlysuchleakageassociatedwiththeassemblyandnottheinstallation.Thetestmethodcanbeadaptedforthelatterpurpose.Note18212;Performingtestsatnon-ambientconditionsorwithatemperaturedifferentialacrossthespecimenmayaffecttheairleakagerate.Thisisnotaddressedbythistestmethod.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedforlaboratoryuse.PersonsinterestedinperformingfieldairleakagetestsoninstalledunitsshouldreferenceTestMethodE783.1.4Personsusingthisprocedureshouldbeknowledgeableintheareasoffluidmechanics,instrumentationpractices,andshallhaveageneralunderstandingoffenestrationproductsandcomponents.1.5Throughoutthistestmethod,SIunitsarelistedfirstinaccordancewithE06metricpolicy,andshallbeconsideredtheprimaryunits.Non-SIunitsareprovidedinparenthesisforreferencepurposes.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecifichazardstatementseeSection.
