【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61282providesguidelinesforthecalculationofpolarizationmodedispersion(PMD)infibreopticsystemstoaccommodatethestatisticalvariationofPMDanddifferentialgroupdelay(DGD)inopticalfibrecablesandcomponents.ThistechnicalreportdescribesmethodsforcalculatingPMDduetoopticalfibrecablesandopticalcomponentsinanopticallink.ThecalculationsarecompatiblewiththosedocumentedintheoutdooropticalfibrecablespecificationIEC60794-3.ExamplecalculationsaregiventoillustratethemethodsforcalculatingtotalopticallinkPMDfromtypicalcableandopticalcomponentdata.Thecalculationsincludethestatisticsofconcatenatingindividualopticalfibrecablesdrawnfromaspecifieddistribution.ThecalculationsassumethatallcomponentshavePMDequaltothemaximumspecifiedvalue.ThecalculationsdescribedcoverfirstorderPMDonly.Thefollowingsubjectareasarecurrentlybeyondthescopeofthistechnicalreport,butremainunderstudy:–calculationofsecondandhigherorderPMD;–accommodationofcomponentswithpolarizationdependentloss(PDL)–ifitisassumedthatPDLisnegligibleinopticalfibrecables;–systemimpairments(powerpenalty)duetoPMD;–interactionwithchromaticdispersionandothernonlineareffects.MeasurementofPMDisbeyondthescopeofthistechnicalreport.MethodsofmeasurementofPMDofopticalfibreandcablearegiveninIEC60793-1-48.ThemeasurementofopticalamplifierPMDisinIEC61290-11-1.ThemeasurementofcomponentPMDisinIEC61300-3-32.MeasurementoflinkPMDisgivenin61280-4-4.Ageneraltheoryandguidanceonmeasurementsisgivenin61282-9.
